Qué suerte!!!

Habéis visto la previsión del tiempo paqra la semana que viene? qué maravilla! cuando decidimos casarnos en septiembre, sabíamos que nos arriesgábamos a que hiciera frío o lloviera, pero no recuerdo un septiembre tan caluroso en Valladolid. Perfecto!!!

Y además toda la gente que viene de fuera va a disfrutar su visita a España mucho más! Qué suerte hemos tenido!!!

Visiting Madrid

I have been asked by several people to advise them about what to do in Madrid. For me it is quite dificult because I have never lived in Madrid, and when I visit my friends there, they are the ones taking me around, so half of the times I don't even know where I am...

So I have decided to write this blog entry in order to give you the few tips that I know and I will ask my friends who live there to add their input by comments, let's see if it works.

First of all, the official webpage in English about Madrid has a lot of information. If you go to the TOP 10 article, you will see taht a lot of them are museums. If you like art, Madrid is an amazing place. The National art museum is El Prado, which may be too big to visit if you are few days in Madrid, but my favourite is the Reina Sofia Museum, with some of the best collections of Spanish Contemporary Art.

From my point of view, Madrid is a city to just walk aropund and see the fantastic atmosphere, there are always people in the street, many, many bars and shops are open until very late. You can of course walk around the center and see the known sites like the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor, the Debob Temple... but you shouldn't miss stopping by El Mercado de San Miguel, which re-opened recently and I have heard is really nice.

One of my favourite areas to just walk around is Chueca, which is the gay neighbourhood, and has so much life! Take the Fuencarral street and enjoy the area, there are also a lot of cool shops in the area, you should check the Mercado de Fuencarral out!

Finally a MUST DO in Madrid if you are there on a Sunday is to go to La Latina. It is a neighbourhood in the center which is know for the tapas and party atmosphere that there is there every Sunday. My friends used the word "Latinazo" when they mean that they party in that area on Sunday from 13:00 up to the late evening. You start with a beer and end up drinking mojitos and dancing in the fatrenoon like it was a Saturday night. If you go there, maybe you want to have a walk first in El rastro, which is a very know flea market.

Depending om the amount of days that you will be there, you may want to vistit other towns close by Madrid:

- Toledo is 71 km away from Madrid, towards the south-east. I have never been there but people say that it is amazing. It can be a bit tough if it is very warm because the city is in a hill, you you have to go up and down all the time.

- Segovia is 87 km far from Madrid, but it is actually in the way to Valladolid, so if you have a car I really recommend you to stop there for 2 or 3 hours and see the city. The roman aqueduct is incredible!

Only 2 weeks left!

Hace tiempo que no escribimos nada nuevo en nuestro blog (Andreas se pasa el día escribiendo para terminar su tesis y yo tengo muchísimo trabajo...) y he pensado que podría contaros como van los preparativos a sólo dos semanas de la boda. Pero como no puedo perdirle a Andreas que traduzca esto al danés y yo no soy capaz de hacerlo, a partir de ahora voy a escribir en inglés. Y así practicáis un poco!

It is quite a while since we have written anything in our blog (Andreas is writing on his tesis all the time and I have quite a lot of work to do before my vacation...) so I have decided that I should give you an update since there is only 2 weeks left for the big day! I can't ask Andreas to translate all the text and my Danish is not good enough, so I am going to write in English. I hope that for the danes it is ok.

In the last month a lot of things have happened. For example I got my second bachelorette party. The best part of living abroad is having 2 very good groups of friends, so the girls in Denamrk also made a great party for me. They showed up at our place at 10:00 in the morning, and prepared breakfast. I was completely sure that Andreas parents were coming for lunch that day, so they really surprised me! We spent the morning in a spa, where we also got a an awesome massage and then we went for lunch. In the evening we had a great dinner at Rita's place and when we wre finishing, suddenly the door bell rang and a lot of "guy friends" came and we had an amazing party!!! It was really fun and it was amazing to realize how many good friends I have here. You may have seen this picture in facebook. We are all sooo happy! When I get some more pictures, I will show them to you.

The groom has also got his bachelor party. The day started in a similar way, with breakfast at home. I of course don't have all the details of the day, and I almost don't want to know ;-) but I think they had fun playing some laser game and had some great food. He came home really late and had a bad hangover the day after, so those are signs of a very nice evening. I have a couple of pictures:

We have also started getting some presents. Several people have already sent us some money. Thank you very much for that!

Ana and Kike visited us in July and gave us my favourite candle holder and later on bought us also a Nespresso machine! Way too much, but we don't complain ;-) Thanks a lot!

For the people coming from Denmark, we would like to remind you that we would prefer to get your presents, before or after the

wedding. We know that it is more fun to give your present at the wedding it self but bringing all those things back from Spain is not going to be easy.

And yesterday I invited my colleagues to a glass of wine to celebrate the wedding and it was a great success. We had a lot of fun and they also gave us a present, a very funny one. I have taken a picture of it for showing you:

So everything is going great! Andreas and I are super excited about the wedding and having you all sharing the day with us. See you very soon!

Despedida de soltera

El sábado pasado, al final de mis vacaciones en Valladolid mis amigas me hicieron una despedida de soltera inolvidable!!! qué guay nos lo pasamos!

Primero me marearon un poco por la ciudad, para despistarme, con mensajes de texto me mandaron de plaza en plaza, comprando chorradas que habían encargado de antemano en tiendas y metiéndome miedo con que había sido una "chica muy mala"... y yo cada vez con menos idea de lo que iba a pasar hasta que llegué al Señorita Malauva, un bar de cata de vinos donde tienen acciones porque van todos los sábados y donde tenían una mesa reservada. Allí me enseñeron un póster super guay que habían hecho donde cada una de ellas (incluídas las ausentes ese día) se habían hecho una foto en un lugar mítico de nuestra adolescencia con una palabra y la frase decía "Se casa Inés, nos barremos los pies. Se casa Inés con su guiri danés" En la foto no se aprecia bien, pero está guay!!!

Luego apareció una chica super maja con una maleta llena de juguetes eróticos con la que aprendimos un montón ;-) bueno, las demás habían estado antes en una sesión de "tupper sex" pero yo no y me lo psé muy bien!

Hasta entonces estábamos bebiendo champán, y a partir de ese momento empezó a correr el vino. En el bar habían preparado un juego para identificar sabores y olores relacionados con el vino. Competimos en dos equipos, y como no podía ser menos ganó el de la novia!!! Por suerte nos dieron algo de comer entre vino y vino: quesos, jamón, achoas, paté... mmmmm! buenísimo!

Y cuando nos estábamos acercando al postre, me pusieron un rosco en la cabeza para jugar a "Pasa la novia" imitando el pasapalabra de la tele, con preguntas súper graciosas de nuestros buenos momentos juntas, desde el Flequillo de Francia hasta el Water donde al parecer me encontraron un día abrazada... unas risas!

Y cuando fallaba me tenía que ir a la calle a vender un chupa chup al primero que pasara... la primera vez me dio vergüenza pero al final estaba yo muy suelta!

Y para rematar la cena, Anabel nos preparó galletas y cupcakes especiales para la ocasión. Eres una artista, guapa! Y todo estaba buenísimo!!!

Cuando pensé que no tenía que hacer más el ridículo, y que ya nos íbamos simplemente de fiesta, me pusieron un vestido con miles de gominolas cosidas, y tuve que pedirle a gente por la calle que si quería quitarme alguna... había chicos muy salados y otros un poco más aburridos, pero también muy gracioso!

Fue una noche genial, chicas! me lo pasé súper bien y nunca la olvidaré! sois las mejores y os quiero muchooooo!!!!

Lista de bodas

Después de darle vueltas y pensar en muchas ideas  para que haya regalos de todo tipo, por fin tenemos lista de bodas, o mejor dicho una lista de ideas, porque no es una lista tradicional como se conoce en España por lo menos. No hay una tienda que tenga todas las cosas que queremos, así que simplemente hemos hecho una lista con muchas posibilidades, desde regalos pequeños hasta los más caros para los que juntaremos la contribución de varios invitados. De esta forma nos arriesgamos a tener regalos repetidos que tendremos que cambiar, pero por otro lado los regalos serán más auténticos y elegidos por los invitados.
Si alguien tiene claro lo que nos quiere regalar y quiere que lo quitemos de la lista, mandadme un mail y se os adjudicará automáticamente.
Y como escribimos también al final de la página, lo importante es vuestra presencia, no vuestro regalo.
